Recording Studio - Nikelpiga

Today, was a very cold October day and the hands were hardly happy to press the keys or pick the strings. But the bows were once again out in force as recording for "Nikelpiga" began.

The idea for this track has been ongoing for some time and because of the essence and Swedish roots of such a song (which was dedicated to my wife and her Swedish family).

The song is a back to basics for the traditional Row Boat sound, with the reminiscent violins of Bella and sweeping ethereal pads. As with a lot of my songs, the track build up and layers are the core and driving force behind everything.

Today was productive (as not everyday is always productive) and the heart of the track is there. 5 violins, 2 fugalhorns, and 2 organs (with a bit crusher) and an emergence bass guitar make up the song so far. A few more percussive pieces to finish off are all that are now left.

Hopefully the wife will pack me up with some hot Pho soup on Thursday to keep the hands warm for another stint in the studio!
